Android Central Question

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to create subfolders on the Samsung Galaxy S7 gallery please?
For example, to have a main folder called "Holidays", then within that folder to have subfolders called things like "Paris", "Berlin" etc.
Thank you.

Albums are nothing more than folders on the file storage. If the gallery app is not letting you create new "albums", you can do it using any file browser app to create folders.

If you need a better gallery app, give this one a try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.diune.pictures

I'm afraid that app suggestion had nothing to do with his issue.

He wanted subfolders/nested so he can cut down say 50 photo albums down to 5 main folders. Each having 10 albums or something.

I want the same and still can't manage to find a free app that has this. I find it baffling that many phones don't have the subfolder option whilst it still looking like a gallery. Even my 2004 phone has subfolders in gallery...

P.s i am away there is another sectoon of each phone that allows subfolders but that section only shows folders and not photos in a gallery style.

Welcome to Android Central! The problem with the stock Gallery app on most phones is that it doesn't support a folder hierarchy -- it will display each folder as its own album, regardless of where it's nested.

This one may be worth trying: Folder Gallery

All you do is drag and drop. But when you get to the main folder, drop the subfolder before the main folder moves. It moves so you can re-arrange albums/folders. But since you don't want that, drop right away. It could take multiple tries, in which case, the sub folder will just land beside or below the main folder.
