How to delete google account on samsung s4

[AC Question]

I've read a bunch of info on this from other people experiencing the same issues. I have my work and personal email on my s4 I'm trying to delete my personal account off of it. If I go to settings,accounts, and click on Google it comes up with a message that says unfortunately, settings has stopped. I checked for updates I'm running the latest software. Anyone have any idea why it keeps coming up with this error ? And how to delete it ?
