Android Central Question

I have a Galaxy S5.

I was told to backup my photos with Google Drive, which I thought was a good idea so I would have them if something happened.

The problem is, when I go into my gallery, I can select recent photos and delete them fine.

But pictures that are more than like 60 days old, I can click on them but the delete/trash icon will not appear on any of them that have the little Google Drive logo in the pics.

I have went into Google Drive and delete the pictures I did not want anymore.

I restarted my phone, they are still showing up in my gallery.

Any help on how I can remove these pictures from my gallery?

I have googled and googled, no luck finding a solution.

Thanks!

You could try Delete From Device, an option when you tap the 3-dot overflow menu top right after selecting a photo in Google Photos.

Welcome to Android Central! Did you back up to Google Photos using the Google Photos app? If so, you can use the Free Up Space option in the Google Photos app, which will automatically delete any locally saved photo files that have already been backed up to Google Photos.
