How to determine which app is handling an action/mime type, so I can clear it

When I click on some Quicktime content in my Chrome browser, something is responding "cannot play content". I presume it's trying to launch some app which is inappropriate for the particular content.

How can I tell what app is trying to handle the content, so that I can clear it?

Easiest way is to just clear all of your default apps.

Click Settings, then up in the top right corner click on Search, then type:

Default Applications

then click on that then scroll down and clear defaults on anything that can play videos.
