How to differentiate between a pre-battery and post-battery N7?

That was one of my theories. But, isn't this a question to be answered when the new ones come out? I am sure we will know the answer at some point so someone doesn't end up buying a bad one from some third party.

This will be a key issue in the note 7 line thriving or failing there has to be some visual distinctive quality that separates the OG note 7 from the battery fixed note 7 if not then the value of the note 7 will be trash

Serial number?

...maybe manufacture date too? When did the REALLY SHUT IT DOWN? (My Official Text Message from AT&T came on 9/2 and the Samsung eMail came on 9/6) Make sure your manufacture date is (a few days) AFTER that, I would imagine!

Maybe they'll slap a sticker on the box giving the new battery info. I really can't see them doing much more that that given the time frame.

Yeah, I'd say anything after September 1, since that's when they announced that they were recalling the phones and identified the issues.

They'd have to do more then something on a box. Doesn't AT&T change their boxes? What about ones sold later and the box is gone? I'm hoping something in the settings on the phone itself.

This is one of the reasons that I'm not exchanging mine out. I'll take my chances. There's absolutely no way to even know if I'm exchanging it for a new redesigned battery or the same exact phone.

They said plain and clear we are getting NEW phones and that they want all of the sold phones returned - are you willing to risk your property, your office if you work and charge it there. You won't be able to fly with the current Note out of the US or Australia

I saw this idea in another thread. Maybe they should give it a new model number eg. The Note 7.1

This way it is obvious.

Well, my phone shows Hardware Version Rev 0.7 in the settings. I'm sure the new phones will have a different Hardware Version number.

You can use es file explorer and see what battery is in the phone. Just read it in xda. I checked mine for the heck of it and it says sdi. So, the new ones should say something different.
