How to disable automatic Video Recording?

When switching from Camera to Video, the video automatically begins to record without even pressing the record button. Any way to disable this function?

that's because you are NOT changing between photos and videos.... the middle button is to capture pictures, and the top one is to capture videos... they made it this way, so you can do both at the same time...
mostly noticeable when recording a video, start recording, and you can take pictures while recording, just using the middle button...

that's why you can access both picture and video settings....

That's pretty much it hehe there's no 'Photo' and 'Video' mode... it's just all in one mode now (not my cup of tea either, but I can see the simplicity). If you don't like it, you could download a 3rd party camera app. Camera Zoom FX or Camera360 have always worked well for me.
