How to disable beep when using fingerprint reader and double-tap power button for camera?

Subject sort of says it all. There is a small beep that's made when you touch the fingerprint reader and when you activate the camera by double-tapping the power button on the Nexus 5x.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to turn that off. Anyone know?

Or am I mistaking the sound of the vibration to be a beep? The sound is noticeably louder than the vibration from other devices I've used.

I'm certain that the sound you are hearing is the vibration motor. It is known to make a “chirp” or “beep” when it’s activated. Even with "vibrate on touch" disabled in the settings, vibration feedback from the fingerprint scanner and the camera power button shortcut persist.

Yeah, I hear a vibration but not a beep.

I'd love to be able to turn the vibration off, but I'm assuming that'd require root (and I'm not ready to root this phone just yet).
