How to disable the home button from turning the screen on?

I have a bad problem with pocket dial because the damn phone keeps turning the screen on as I walk, as it presses the home button. I would like to make the screen only turn on via the power button, but I couldn't find the relevant menu option. Running Android 6.0.

Unfortunately you can't. I think the S5 already had that option, but the only way to prevent that is to activate the 'don't turn screen on in pocket' option. But you can't 'unlink' the Home Button from waking the device, at least not with the stock software options.

Install "Gravity Screen Lock" from the playstore--I've been using since I got my s5. I had the same problem as you before I installed it.

Holy crap, Gravity Screen is awesome! I can't believe it's free! I'll buy the pro version just to support the dev. Tyvm for the recommendation!
