How to disconnect Google account from Google Photos?

I just hard resetted my LG G7 and when I went to Google Photos for the first time, it linked with my Google account. While I turned "back-up and sync" off, I want to completely remove the account from Photos, but without having to remove it from the phone altogether.

Any suggestions on how to do that?

If you don't use the app you could disable it.

As golfdriver said I would just disable the app. That is really the only way. Google apps will use the Google account on the device.
