How to do a recovery by hard reset

Someone erased a day out of my google timeline and i want to know why

Did you take the blue pill or the red pill?
Seriously, try to verify everything synced. Restarting the phone is an easy way, assuming you didn't change the sync settings or Google settings just before the stoppage. Or maybe a new installed app isn't being nice.
