Unfortunately after tinkering, I've found out Sprint VVM doesnt work with Gingerbread :( . It is unlikely Sprint will ever update the apk to work with GB due to their partnership with Google and Google Voice. I'm as disappointed by this as anyone else as currently (5/8/11) the NS4G doesnt support google voice lite which is essentially VVM only.

[note] You must have gone through the [How-To] Unlock, Install SU, Custom Recovery thread to do this. Thats not a suggestion, it's a requirement. Don't be that person who doesn't do that then starts wondering why this process doesn't work :p[/note]

-Download the Titanium Backup app (free) from the market
-Open the application after it installs and grant SU permission
-Click the "problems" button on the bottom of the screen and let TB install busybox
-DOWNLOAD THIS FILE
-Open the zip you downloaded above and place the VVM application (Sprint_VVM_5.1.0.48.apk) on the root of your SD card
-Take the TitaniumBackup folder and its contents from the zip above and place that on the root of your SD card. If a folder already exists on your SD card named TitaniumBackup, just place the contents of the folder from the zip into the existing folder on the root of your SD
-Using a file explorer on your phone, drive to the SD card and install the APK
-Now launch the titanium backup app and do the following:
1) Click backup/restore on top of screen in titanium backup
2) Scroll down to Voicemail T.5.1.0.48 and press it
3) Select restore
4) Select data only. Dont do app only, dont do app+ data

Enjoy.

[warn]After doing this the Sprint VVM application will send annoying text messages anytime you get a new voicemail. These text messages will come from the number "9016". You have 1 option to stop it. You can download a 3rd party SMS/MMS app such as Go SMS or chomp and blacklist that number so no more texts will come from it. [/warn]

Will have my nexus in 10 hours and will try this out. Thanks for posting the solution!

KSmith is all over this device. Good job bro...can't wait to try this out tomorrow. :D

I haven't blocked the number yet but it doesn't appear the voicemail is being delivered to the app. I got all the provisioning information via the 9016 txt. But no voicemail shown. Only two messages from 9016 appear, a provision and a voicemail sent message. I've sent 2 voicemails there after and nothing shows and no new texts.

Same thing with me...I followed all the directions and nothing shows when I get a voicemail

yeah thats weird. I just tested and same BUT if you open VVM and compose a message (which is how i was testing since i only have 1 activated phone available) to yourself it sends through the network and arrives no problem and notifies you of it hmmmmmmmmm

unfortunately gang, it appears Sprint VVM won't work with GB and I highly doubt it ever will :'( Using the method above it installs fine and you can send and receive messages through the VVM app but if you actually miss a call, the VVM never gets from Sprints servers to our phones.
