How to enable vibrate mode?

This seems like a silly question, but I can't figure out how to quickly put the S4 in silent or vibrate only mode without going into the home screen sound options. I thought I saw once that when I pressed the volume rocker all the way to the bottom, it would do it, but it doesn't do it anymore. Possibly because I installed Nova launcher?

Is there a way to quickly put my phone in vibrate or silent without installing a third party app? Thanks.

on the notification widgets

there's one toggle that says "Sound" when it's not muted..."Vibrate" when it's muted but will still vibrate... and "Mute" for no sound nor vibration

Or long press your power button and select vibrate from the choices.
