How to fix auto correct annoyances

Has anyone been having any trouble with the auto correct feature on the stock keyboard?

The phone will randomly start having me "auto correct" words that are correct..

words like, "they" "them" "why" .... I've reset the keyboard to default settings and this seems to temporarily fix this issue, so does restarting the phone.

But then these problems eventually return. Ultimately i had to turn off "auto correct" which is a bummer because I enjoy a properly working Auto Correct feature.

I know there are a ton of keyboard options in Google Play, but I am still an Android newbie and don't know what to download, any help?

Swiftkey 3 is far and aawy the best IMO. I have been using it for years. It has great word prediction and correction, and learns over time and from your twitter SMSs if you want it to as well..
