How to fix these quirks in the call app

I have searched on Google but couldn't seem to find a good answer, so I thought I'll post them here.
My first question is how to prevent the screen from going to sleep/ blackout during a call. I understand it's good to have the screen go to sleep while talking to conserve battery life, but when I move the phone away from my head, I want the screen back on so I can make on screen selection or hang up.
Second question is how to prevent the phone from vibrating after call is connected? I have already unchecked vibration feedback for calls under the sound setting, but it still vibrates, am I missing something here?
Any help would be appreciated

The reason the screen blacks out during a call isn't so much to conserve battery life, but more so that you don't accidentally press any onscreen buttons with your ear. It should come on pretty quickly once you take it away from your ear. If you don't like the feature, maybe consider using a Bluetooth earpiece. Are you having problems with the screen staying blank after taking it away from your ear?

For the 2nd question, what do you mean by vibrating after the call is connected? Is it vibrating even when you're talking to someone? Or do you mean that it's vibrating along with the ringtone?

I know what he is talking about on the vibrating. When you place a call and the person on the other end answers it will vibrate for a second. I asked this same ? a few months back but never got an answer.

I found that I was not holding the phone to my ear properly and the phone would stay black after a call. I found that if I hold the phone a little different that it worked fine. Also some time I get lazy and still don't hold it properly but if I put it back to my ear for a second and then back down that it will light up. Don't have an answer to your second ?

Sorry for the unclear explanation. And yes, I am still having problem with the screen staying blank after I take it away from my ear. Any fix for that

That's exactly what I am asking about. Whenever I make an outgoing call and after the call has been connected, the phone vibrates and it kinda irritates me

On my Razr Maxx, under Settings/Sound, there's a setting for "Call connect--Set sound emitted when call is connected." Do you have that setting as well?

I do not have that setting, and eventually I'll be able to get use to it. As for the screen black out during a call even after I move the phone away from the head, I still have no luck finding a fix

Do you have a screen protector or a case? Sometimes those can interfere with the proximity sensor.

I just looked at the vibrate-when-call-answered issue, and haven't had the chance to try it yet, so I don't know if this is the solution or not; but if you go to Settings -> Sound, there's an option (JellyBean 4.1.2) for "Vibrate - Vibration feedback for calls". Perhaps switching that off will eliminate the annoying vibrate in the ear.

(I have to say, it's started to bug me too - probably less than it ultimately could, since these days I get more texts than calls.)

Cheers!

And heads-up - it'll be disabled if your ringer is on silent or vibrate I think.

Cheers!
