How to fix wallpaper so that is doesn't stretch??

No.

You need a wallpaper of 960x800. (This is because when you move left/right on the home screen, the wallpaper also moves)

Or if you use launcher pro you can go to menu > preferences > appearance settings > "disable wallpaper scrolling"

Just an FYI launcher pro is a launcher and will replace the HTC launcher, I'd do some research on it if you're not familiar with it.

It would still require stretching, as that BG is not even 800x480.

I had the same problem after the ICS update.. I found a solution on another forum but it involves downloading a free wallpaper app. If you're okay with that the app name is "wallpaper wizardrii" and can be found on Google Play. Good luck!
