How to get back the icon for an app on ZTE Speed phone?

I'm using ZTE Speed phones to run a robot for a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team. FTC has apps to load into the phones one to be mounted on the robot and one to be held in the team member's hand, driving the robot.

I downloaded the apps from Google Play store, and they showed up as little icons on the screen, and everything was good.

Next day I found the little icon for the app for the Driver Station, gone. I figured I must have accidentally deleted it, so logged back into the Store to re-download it. Got a message that it was already downloaded, and would I like to uninstall it or open it? I chose open it, and one second later it was running fine. It must still be there.

But the little picture (icon?) on the screen for it, is gone.

How do I get the icon back?

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like it may have only been the shortcut icon that disappeared from the homescreen. Open the App Drawer and look for the app there. Long-press it and drag the shortcut back to the homescreen.

Found the app in the App drawer, thank you! But long-pressing it didn't do anything, I couldn't drag it anywhere.

So I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. Problem solved.

Thanks for your help, though. That confirmed it was there.
