How to get data from internal storage?

Okay so I have Motorola phone with a broken screen that I want to transfer pictures from to my laptop. Is there anyway to get them from the internal storage? I do not have a memory card. So using the micro adapter is not an option. I have tried plugging the phone into my laptop with a usb cable to see if it would sync, it set up something for the phone but now when I try nothing shows up. HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect the phone via USB, do you get a CD Drive window appear on the computer first? If so, exit out of that without installing anything. That's probably an installer for either Motorola or carrier software. After you exit out of the CD Drive window, see if the device appears in the Windows Explorer list.
