How To Get Gingerbread on G2 without a data plan?

Okay I have a T-Mobile G2 without a data plan. When Gingerbread is made available for G2's, how would I be able to obtain it?

If a RUU is released you can just run the program and flash Gingerbread onto the phone. Keep an eye on the forums for the release of the RUU.
