How to get Google Now interactive like on Nexus???

On my Nexus 7 after saying "OK Google" and ask a question I can continue to simply say "OK Google" and ask additional questions and such without having to touch the device at all. On my Galaxy S3 phone and on the Note 10.1 2014 tablet I just bought for my mother it only responds to the first "Google" wake up and question. After that I have to tap the mic icon to ask something else thus completely defeating the feature of a hands free interactive experience. Is there any way at all to get that working where it goes back to listening for the Google command after the first question? It works if I instead use S Voice but Google Now is pretty damn cool.
