How to get newer Swype

How do I download newer version of Swype, given that the preinstalled version is a year old and I never got any updates? I don't want to root the phone.

using Swype version 2.50.72.20895.20925, Android 2.3.3, Evo 4g.

Since Swype is still in beta, until they decide to make the app available in the market, the only ways you can get updates is if a firmware update includes an updated version, or you'll have to root your phone to have the pre-installed version removed.

You can go to Swype's website and register with them and they will give you newer versions.
