How to have unreplied SMS be highlighted

Hi,

I oftend find myself reading a SMS and forgetting to reply to it.
The problem is that the message is then marked as read in my current messaging app (default Google Messages), and then whenever I open the app again, I don't realise that I never replied.

Is there any way with Messages or another app to automatically highlight unreplied messages?

For instance, to have them be in a different category, appear differently, have all messages appear "unread" unless I either reply or mark them as not needing a reply?

This would help me tremendously!

I already have this feature enabled, however it doesn't exactly do what I need: it takes some time to decide that I need to reply to a message, and even then it is inconsistent in determining that (due to the machine learning aspect I assume).

Is there any way or other messaging app to have this be systematic / automatic ?
