I'm not sure what your referring to without a visual, is it on home screen or in the camera app?

It seems they removed that feature not too long ago. Apparently, an App called "Round corners and hide notch" from the Google Play Store. Solves the problem.

I use dark wallpapers sometimes that almost make the hole punch notch invisible. I personally don't really mind seeing it.
