How to I remove the battery?

I was about to make a call when my phone wouldn't turn on. Which was weird, because it was at about 50% battery last time I checked.

So I went to charge it but nothing happened after a couple minutes.

This might sound stupid, but how do I open the back compartment to take out the battery?

There's a small tab that's been cut out on the top and center of the battery cover. Stick a fingernail in there and pry it off.

I did it the easy way. Dropped it on concrete.
Suppose I should have a case.
