How to install android 4.4.4 after rooting?

Hi,

I have an LG vortex vs660 with android 2.2.2 installed. I tried updating it, but that didn't work. Then I rooted it with Iroot. Seems I did everything right, according to the Iroot software. But now how do I upgrade from android 2.2.2? It's just too hard to work with.

With android 2.2.2, I still have an incredibly difficult time downloading any apps.
So I find I can't install SuperSU or Root checker from google play.

Help please.

You have to find a ROM for that phone for 4.4.4 - which you aren't going to do, because LG wouldn't have written one because, with 170MB of storage and a 600MHz CPU, the thing would crawl like a dead snail on 4.4.4. Froyo phones can't be updated much - some of the later ones could take 4.0, but that was pushing it even with a flagship phone.

The phone is 5 years old. In cellphone lifetimes, that's about 3 lifetimes. You want someone who was old in the mid-1800s to be running races today.

SuperSU just traps root requests and allows you to block them (for instance, if a virus is requesting root). su, the binary, is all you need to be rooted. You don't need Root Checker to check root either. Just run an app that requires root - if it runs, you're rooted. (Or look in the /data folder. If there are other folders in there, and you can look in them, you're rooted.)
