How to install new OS on Samsung devices.

Hi there, I'm new to Android, and have a bunch of Samsung devices at work. I'd like to learn how to install a new version of Android on these. Much like I can use iTunes for installing new versions of iOS, I'd like to learn the "official" way to do this on Samsung devices. I have the following devices:

Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-I317M)
Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920W8)
Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928W8)

What software is required (for mac OS X) and where can I get the new binaries for the downloads.

If you want to take the official route, you can obtain the software and the instructions to use it here : Samsung Kies, Free Download Kies 3, Latest PC Suite, Mobile Software, Window 7 PC

There's a Mac version on that page below the Windows client.

I think Smart Switch has replaced Kies now.

I think Smart Switch has replaced Kies now.

Kies is for older devices while smart switch is for newer devices.
