How to keep all data off external storage card

I want to use my external card for music. Music only. How do i stop Android from writing files to the card. It works fine without a card so why does it need to store settings and files when i install the card.

I want to keep the card clear of data except music so i dont need to encrypt the disc

I have checked all settings and googled lots

What data is being written to the card?
This should lead you to which app is writing the data, so you can go to its settings and change the data location.

There is a folder called Android. In that is two folders media and Data. Inside data is a list of apps storing data. When i go to the Application manger and choose the app and storage. It says x amount of internal storage . no mention of card. Then go into the app itself and settings. No mention of storage location.

You are not going to be able to prevent system files being written to the SD card. Android sd card default folders purpose - Android Enthusiasts Stack Exchange
