How to keep CPU from "sleeping" when screen is turned off

Long story short, my phone's touch screen doesn't respond when I turn turn it on to access the unlock screen. It's just "dead" as it were and I have to turn the screen on and off up to twenty times before it will start working again. Once I get it unlocked, the phone works fine until I turn the screen off again, that's why I don't think it's a hardware problem. It's a generic Chinese S5 knock off, and I've taken it to three shops already and no one will touch it because they said they don't have the parts for it. I contacted the maker in China because it's still under warranty, and they will fix it, but I have to pay the postage both ways and be without the phone for as long as the whole process takes, so it's certainly not my ideal situation!! After doing a lot of research on the net, I found someone that had a similar problem and they theorized that it was because when the CPU entered sleep mode it became sluggish and that's why the screen doesn't respond when you try and "wake it." So basically what I am looking for is a way to keep the CPU from slowing down when I have my screen off. I know there must be some App out there that will do this for me, and I've been looking, but haven't found one that does the job. Anyone know an app that will keep my CPU from sleeping??
