I notice that when I am Google play music it stays in my notification shade. Spotify goes away after a while and then I have to go open again. Is there a way to keep an app active in the notification shade?

Have you already tried turning off Battery Optimization for that app?

No 3rd party battery saver apps or RAM booster apps installed?

Nope. It seems almost intentional. Google Play Music and YouTube stays no matter how long your music is paused. If I pause Spotify to go in the store, it's gone my the time I get out. I have to open the app to pick up where I left off.

Strange. When the notification disappears, what happens if you tap the Recent Apps/Overview button and select Spotify? Does it open up exactly where you left off, or does it look like it's opening up completely fresh?

It is there in recent. Sometimes it's not but it's probably because I opened a bunch of apps. When I click recent or reopen the app it picked me up where I stopped even if it's mid song.

Let me ask some of the other Ambassadors who have Samsung phones about this.

I asked a couple people -- they mentioned that it only seems to disappear when they're casting. Is that what you're doing?

No. It does it if I'm using Bluetooth, headphones, or the phone speakers.
As long as it's playing it's there. Once I've I paused it it goes away.

Argh!:-\ Sorry, not sure what to try next. If I find a possible solution, I'll come back to this thread.

Make sure spotify not disable when not in use , long press the app >tap info see if its restricted in background when not in use?

I opened Google music up at 7:30. I played one song, stopped it, and then played something from Spotify.

It's 4:00 now, and it's still there. Spotify left 15 minutes after I stopped it. YouTube does the same thing and stays until I dismiss it Screenshot_20190521-155704.jpeg
