How to keep super close macro shots on the S7 Edge on Pro Mode

One thing I really like about this phone is that when you are on Pro Mode, and you hold your finger on the slider for the focus adjustment and move it to macro, it does a really close zoom in macro preview of that the camera is facing. However, when u release your finger, the camera zooms back out.

Is there a way for it to stay on that really close zoom in mode?

Nope. That's just a preview to help you manually focus, but that's it. It's a digital zoom, however, of what you'd end up seeing in the final picture, just zoomed into that center spot.

It looks so cool though and it looks pretty sharp and clear. I really wish I could get it to stay like that, it would make for awesome pics

It zooms to show you the focus area, if you want that as your end product take the photo and then crop. There would be no benefit to having it staying zoomed in, as it's only digital zoom.

I use the magnifier to take really up-close pictures sometimes.

The problem is digital zoom is a big no no you lose so much detail my best advice take the shot normally then crop it to fit works much better and you don't lose the detail.
Also while in pro mode shoot in raw format and edit from that

Well I know it's digital zoom but it's actually pretty sharp on the phone, and it's not the same when take a macro shoot without it and zoom in afterwards ....id only be using it for myself anyways not like anything professional

I have been looking for the answer to this for awhile and want to thank you for making it perfectly clear that this is working as designed and not a bug!! This has been aggravating me for a long time, but I could swear that I accidentally got it to stay one time and took a perfectly clear macro picture!

I love the verbal shoot mode. You can get your shot in perfect and just say shoot , cheese ,or smile , and you won't have any movement from pressing the button to blur your shot . Plus I like the dsl mode when you hold the down volume button .(This was my first reply on here , and I hope I did it right )
