how to kill the stock messaging app to use handcent?

I want to know howto kill the stock one to use hancent, and dont have to keep killing it manually with the task manager.

Why do you need to kill it? Just turn off it's notifications and when prompted tell it you only want to use Handcent, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, go to the regular messaging app-->menu-->settings-->Uncheck notifications....

... and replace any messaging icons on your homescreens with Handcent.

enter the stock app and kill the notification bells and whistles . also turn off auto retrieve msgs. then handsent will be your default. once you select it and hit the lil check mark at bottom of screen. make sure you turn on auto retrieve msgs in the handsent app.
