How to know if i have a good file

IM UNROOTING MY GS3 AT&T, IM GOING BACK TO STOCK. is there a way to tell if the file is good before I go ahead and flash back? What happens if it's not good, I have nandroid backups so just in case something goes wrong can I just flash a backup?

Yes, that is where Nandroids can be helpful.
