how to look up something in address book while talking on the phone

anybody know how to switch applications while not abandoning the first---so I`m on the phone and the other party asks for an address or number of a third party...how can I switch to address book without losing the call or saying I`ll call you back in a minute

Press the Home key, then press Contacts. Some phones will dosconnect if you do that, most won't. Try it on a test call before you disconnect someone important.
