How to move ringtones from adoptable storage to internal memory

So I have a friend who has a Moto X. Hes frustrated because I think his custom ringtones are on the SD card and he has it set to adopted storage so the SD card and internal store are one. His card must not be loading up fast enough or running fast enough. In the past, I would then say you need to make sure the sound files are on the internal part of the storage so they load up and run faster.

But I can't see how to get it so he can move them. I have my SD and internal combined but I run a fast enough card with no issues. Where do we find the system files in order to force the ring tones to be on the internal memory even though it is integrated?

When the SD card is converted to adoptable storage, you lose all control over internal vs external storage since there is no such thing as external storage at that point.
