How to mute phone numbers that are not my contacts

I have an s10e and saw an option to "mute all calls, alerts, and media, except for your selected exceptiins" in Settings> Notifications> Do Not Disturb. But I just received a call (my phone rang) from a number I do not recognize which is obviously not saved to my contacts. I mainly did this to mute the multiple spam calls I get daily. Just wondering why this call wasnt muted. Any ideas/tips?

ATT has an app called "call protect" which does come caller ID analysis on incoming calls.
If your phone has a similar app from your carrier, it might be interfering with the DND rules, maybe.

Also check the settings in your dialer app. Some give you the option of sending "unknown" and "private" calls directly to voicemail.

Yes, I have DND scheduled "until I turn off"
