How to open Sim door without the tool?

I have order my phone from ebay, it wont come with the sim remover tool. I only need to do this one time anyway. What else I can use to safely open the Sim door without struggling? Please think of something not too thin (would puncture the inside part instead of pressing it) and not too thick (could scratch and wide the opening) according to your experience. I haven't got the phone yet, so I have no clue on the size of that hole and how firm I need to push.. Thanks

Small size paper clip, straightened, will work just fine. If this is a used phone it may not require much force to open the SIM tray.

+1 for paper clip. Just be sure to go in straight and as firm as needed. I bend the correct sized clip at a right angle and to give better leverage you can use the rest of the unbent clip as a handle to push with. Easy peasy, works perfect.

I have used stretched out key rings in a time of need. Paperclip, safety pin, and any other small wire that I can get to pop it open.
