I upgraded to lollipop, hated it, unlocked bootloader (but haven't rooted phone) and downgraded to kitkat 4.4.4. Life is good again except for these two points:
1. In my notifications bar is a permanent message display that system update to 5.01 is downloaded and ready to install. I don't have the option to dismiss this notification.
I read that for a nexus phone, (the phone needs to be rooted) the following apps work to disable system notification: 3C Toolbox and the Xposed module.
So i want to know:
1. if i have to first root my phone
2. if these same apps will work on a Moto G (1st gen) to solve this problem.
Also, another small issue, which i can totally live with, I've noticed since downgrading to kitkat is that the screen no longer fades to black, but rather, a flat line appears and it goes dark suddenly... is there anyway i can bring the fade effect back?
