How to put files on my phone?

I plug my GS7 to my PC and the Galaxy s7 folder comes up, but I can't drag anything into it. Like a picture or a music file. Is my phone protected somehow? Or is there an app I have to download on my PC to add stuff to the phone.

Swipe down on the notification bar and choose mtp. This is also discussed in the FAQ sticky.
