How to Quickly Reboot the Evo

I saw this posted somewhere, but I haven't seen it here where it is readily searchable/findable/etc. Please pardon me if I am posting a duplicate thread: I didn't find another with Quickly Rebooting the Evo in its subject/title.

How to quickly reboot the Evo

1. Hold the power button down.
2. Press the volume up and down buttons one after the other while continuing to depress the power button.

The phone will bring up the power-off options and volume indicator at the same time after which the phone will reboot almost immediately.

I'm sure this isn't something you want to do all the time, as Linux likes to shutdown things properly, but for a quick-fix reboot where time is of the essence, this seems to work very well.

didn't work for me? it bring up volume and power-off options, but didn't reboot.

How to quickly reboot the Evo

This did not work as described - the EVO did not reboot. However, it's very easy to power off the EVO using this process: With your screen unlocked, press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds. You'll see this screen where you can select the option you want.

Worked for me, although after seeing the volume and power off display windows flash on the screen several time before the reboot, I am somewhat worried this didn't simply crash the system to force a reboot.
It just didn't feel right....maybe I am paranoid.
