How to remove battery % icon from notification bar.

I would like to remove the icon in the notification bar that tells you the percent of battery charge you have left. Its just taking up room. Is there a way to remove it?

Go to settings. I'm forgetting which specific option it is, but in settings you will be able to customize your notification bar.

It's under display settings and then status bar.

Or Settings/Battery - you can c heck a box there to display it. Just uncheck it if it's checked. (And make sure you aren't running an app that's doing it. GSam, for example, does it.
