How to remove notification from lock screen

I download a battery percentage app and when the screen is locked I have the white notification bar in the middle of screen How do I remove it but yet still keep battery percentage in status bar?

On the lock screen press and hold the notification for a second or two. Then press the 'i' symbol. Then select the block option. That should prevent the notification from showing up in the lock screen but should have the battery percentage in the status bar.

Nope... Disappears in status bar as well

Not possible in stock Lollipop.

I haven't used a weather persistent notification in the status bar since Lollipop for exactly this reason. I hate seeing a constant notification on my lock screen. There is no way to have the temp in my notification bar without it being on my lock screen as well. Very frustrating.
