How to remove PIN prompt on SIM with an S9

Ok, so I know this is a basic question. I haven't removed a PIN prompt since my long gone GT-Exxxx dumbphone days. A while back I got the SIM card replaced on my secondary phone that I use when in Europe (EU Galaxy S9) and since I couldn't find how to remove the SIM PIN prompt I forgot about it and now recently PUK locked it by accidentally typing my screen lock pin instead and am stuck having to be hassled and contact the carrier cause I can't find the card with that code and also forgot the PIN. So long story short, how do I de-PIN a SIM card on an Android phone so it doesn't nag me for the SIM pin every boot?
