Does any know how to remove the Aluminium back plate of the ATP ?

I would like to fix the GPS and Wi-Fi problem by drilling some small holes in the back and closing them with epoxy (maybe even rubber) to give the internal antennas a chance receiving radio waves.

It can't be that hard to drill with a (example) Dremmel 20-30 0.5 mm holes in the aluminium back right at the section where the antennas are.
That should fix the problem with receiving.

Anyone any idea to remove the back without destroying the Asus Transformer Prime (ATP).
And naturally any idea on how to get it back on the tab after modification.

Thanks

This is a very interesting idea. I don't own the device, so unfortunately I can't help you. But I'm interested to see how this goes.
Hopefully someone has an answer for you, and maybe you can keep us posted on your progress :)

anandtech has just taken apart their own unit to fillde with the gps radios and such, head over to anandtech for a little bit more of an explanation on how to remove the case, of course its all user beware.

anandtech worked the tear down on an already broken ATP, hmm I think that is a beginning, but not necessary the best way to start at an out of the box brand new one, smile.
I wanne use it after the modifications again, laugh.
Otherwise I have a 64gb 600 Euro mouse pad, laugh

Maybe just drive around town with someone and start drilling holes
until you get a good signal?
I would avoid bumpy roads and railroad tracks though.
