How to remove the pre-installed screen protector

I've never liked anything over my screen. I'm tempted to remove this just because I would prefer to have direct physical access to my screen. I'm pretty careful with phones and I've never damaged one in day to day use. I tried to see how to get off this screen protector but it seems to be on there pretty firmly. Couldn't even get a fingernail under a corner. For those of you who have removed this screen protector how have you gone about this task without scratching or otherwise damaging your screen?

I used my fingernail at the top left corner.. I just picked at it a couple times and the whole thing just popped off! Didn't even have to peel it...

Your fingernail won't hurt anything unless it's all jagged and covered in dirt!

Yeah fingernail. You'd be surprised how easy it comes off once you get edge up.
