Yep, one was able to store six maps, each up to 80MB, and retrive them every time they want to use it.Thanks Adamsberg, but the point of an 'offline map' is to be able to retrieve it when offline. It was perfectly possible in earlier version of Google Maps.
Good to know, thanks BradleyYou can type OK maps into the search bar to cache maps, each time you do this it does not overwrite the previously cached area. To retrieve, you open maps while offline then find the area which will have been cached. I live in New Zealand and have managed to cache the whole of our North Island on maps and view it all while offline. I have an N7 2013.
