How to Root - Does z4root work?

Okay so i just got my nexus s and i really wan't to root it - I was able to root my Epic 4g before with Z4 root and now am trying to root my Nexus S with it and i can't i downloaded the app from Megauploads.com from a link at droidxforums.com
after i downloaded it i ran it and it said "Running Exploit ect ectt" and it said aquring root shell then it stopped and forced closed - ? ! any suggestion how to root this bad boy ?

Update : okay so i downloaded another version of z4 root i was using version z4root 3.3.0.3apk and now i am running z4root 1.1.0apk lets see if it works

getting root on android emulator 1.5 to 2.3

does z4root works on android emulator(1.5 to 2.3) any version??
it didnt work on mine....what is the problem....what i have to do to get the root access??
