How to Root Galaxy S3

Hello,

I am very new to smart phones and need to Root my Galaxy S3 (Android ver 4.4.2). Win 10.

I have looked at several "how to's" on youtube and keep getting told that I need to DL a file/app and that the link for it is in the description. None of them had any links at all in the descriptions.

I am a beginner and literally need a step-by-step way to root my S3--along with a way to get all the extra files I will need.

Can anybody please help?

1. If you're a beginner, you shouldn't be rooting your phone. That's a good way to ruin it if you don't know what you're doing.

2. Most of the links for rooting the S3 are years old, and the people who maintained the files on their cloud accounts have moved on to newer phones, and deleted the S3 and S4 files.

(And 3, as someone on XDA said a long time ago, and it's still true, if you can't root a phone without downloading a rooting app, you shouldn't be rooting it.)
