Yeah when I seen it I had to share it. I used to have a separate notification for battery percentage but I like this a lot better.

I guess having the blue icons is a plus now.

This is nice. Almost makes GN Launcher appealing because I can tell what the battery is at without the command center. I still would rather have the command center over a different launcher though. But this app makes it one step closer.

Anyone noticing a giant spike in battery usage by Android OS since using this app?

I haven't. Still getting the same time out of my battery between my tablet and phone both using it.

I use Battery Widget Reborn. There's a "beta" version that's free as well if you want to try it out first. It can have toggles in it as well (I use a different widget for my toggles), and can display a usage graph in the notification when expanded.

Elixir is a good app for making all kinds of neat widgets and toggles. It has battery percentage display in a widget. Not sure about the task bar though.

FWIW, blue was better. I also miss the green smiley guys from before the other update. This just keeps getting less...nice?

I have to agree. I just got my phone and more recently the update. I have to say the white status bar is much more boring than the blue. Generic even.

Is there a way to get the battery percentage after the update?

GSam Battery Monitor allows you to put a battery icon overlay in your status bar. You have to configure it so that it sits over the original icon, but it looks pretty nice when you do. You do have to pay for the battery icons pack, but it's only .99 cents.

I tried that myself, but it is a bit of a kludge. There were times I noticed it was misaligned, and it will often put the battery % on the display when it shouldn't be there (i.e., when the notification shade is pulled down.)

I do think it's a dumb design decision by Google not to allow the % to be shown, at least as an option, but I can live without it.
