How to show the long press numbers on the google keyboard

How do you get the numbers to show on the top row of the keyboard? The app description shows them on Google Play, but I don't see them on my keyboard.

Have you gotten the latest update? It was announced only a couple of days ago, so if you haven't gotten a Google Keyboard update yet, you probably don't have the feature yet. It's a rolling update, so you'll have to wait for it to reach your device. I do have the latest update (1.0.1870.703320). Is this the same version you have?

If you compare the last 6 digits of your version with the link posted above, you do not have the latest...

[edit]: In fact only the first digit of your version matches the link.

I guess I don't understand why the above version is different. I have the latest version shown on Google Play and it says I'm up to date. The version on Google Play is dated 8/29/13. There hasn't been another version since then.

Google app updates are distributed in a rolling fashion. You may not receive it at the same time as others. While the app update is rolling out, you may not see the update available in Google Play, although it will say that latest version is dated when the actual update was first released. Just sideload the update if you really want it, using the link I posted above. The latest version is 1.1.

I got a Play update to Google Keyboard (on N10) about a week ago. Play listed long-press numerals in "What's New" - but they just were not there. Today I got additional update on both N10 and N7 (2013) and long-press numerals are there. I'm in UK - I assumed that must have been the reason for the anomaly.
