How to solve this system update thing?

For some reason my Samsung galaxy s6 edge started losing battery life fast and on one night it stoped working. I tried charging it but it wouldn't charge ,it will only show the battery logo .I left it alone for awhile but it wasn't even showing any green so I tried to start it. On the internet it told me to system update it. The phone turned black right after and it flashed "system update" so I left it alone. After some time I checked on it by holding the home buttons, it flashed was flashing system update again and again but it stoped so I waited till the next day , I checked on it but it was still saying system update. I have no idea what to do

Welcome to Android Central! What process did you follow for this system update? Is it showing a screen that says "Downloading, do not turn off target"?

My suspicion is that your battery is failing, and that this doesn't have anything to do with a system update.

Bad idea for any one to start a system update with a depleted battery.
