How to stop software updates notifications

My htc one m7 keeps asking me to update my software. This is the 4th time in 2 weeks I have updated it. Now its asking me to update again yet when i check for update it says there's none available. How do I stop from getting the notification to update?

About the only way is to root the phone and disable the update app.

(If you check for updates less than 24 hours after you last checked, you'll be told that there are none, even if there are. You can't get updates faster than once every 24 hours, even if they issue 3 on the same day. [Don't ask me why - I have nothing to do with these decisions.])
